Houston Business Roundtable (HBR) September 2009 Update
At the Houston Business Roundtable (HBR) meeting today we discussed articles on safe lifting with Plate Clamps, ASME B30.9, and Lyondell's Crane Accident; and lessons learned.
David Moseley brought literature and discussed Crosby's new Split Nut retention systems that make hook inspections easier. Matt Gardiner of Haag Engineering gave a presentation on crane accidents and investigations. Examples included some wind power, yacht, and construction job incidents. Haag Engineering handles 70-75 crane accidents per year. Holt Crane & Equipment is hosting an open house on Sept. 22nd. From 10am to 1pm. Holt will be displaying the first and largest link-belt crawler model 548, 550 ton. The HBR Golf Tournament is Oct. 5. Sign up here.
