New Product Annoucement: Tubing Grabs for Well Servicing

Bishop Lifting Products is excited to announce the latest innovation in well servicing -- Crosby's Tubing Grab. Read more about the features and warnings here.

Tubing grab holding tubing2

HOW IT WORKS:

The tool clamps onto the well tubing just behind the upset and is used to move the tubing to and from the rig floor. Keeping the tube horizontal, the grab allows handlers to move the tubing to the rig floor so the elevators can be attached and stand the tubing upright. The Tube Grab can also be used in the reverse. It is not designed to move the tubing to the vertical.

To install on tubing, pull the trigger fully, and press the jaws over the tubing. Release the trigger and verify the trigger is fully in the locked or forward position prior to applying a load. The operator’s hands must be free of the grab prior to applying the load. The grab must be installed adjacent to the flared end of the tubing or the coupler.  Do not attempt to attach the grab directly to the larger diameter flared end or the coupler.

FEATURES:

  • Devices to lift 2-3/8" and 2-7/8" tubing.
  • Engages with upset end of tubing.
  • WLL: 500 lbs.
  • Fitted with Crosby Shackle for attachment to air tugger line.
  • For the oilfield well servicing market.

BLP "Sling Shots" Sprint for Life on May 7th

Sprint For Life

On Saturday, May 7, 2011, the Bishop Lifting Products “Sling Shots” participated in the 14th annual Sprint for Life 5K Run/Walk and Sprint for Sprouts Kids’ Run benefitting MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Hosted by the Department of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine since 1998, Sprint for Life has raised over $2.7 million for the Blanton-Davis Ovarian Cancer Research Program at MD Anderson.  Bishop Lifting Products’ employees have been participating in the Sprint for Life for five years and are a proud Silver Sponsor for this year’s race.

On Race Day, survivors, their families and friends, businesses, and MD Anderson Employees came together to achieve 2 goals:

This year, about 22,000 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer and about 15,000 women will die, making ovarian cancer the leading cause of death from gynecologic cancers. Unfortunately, because there is no screening or early detection test available and the symptoms are subtle, only 25% of ovarian tumors are detected before they have progressed to an advanced stage.

For more pictures, more information, or how you can help, please visit MD Anderson online.
